This might be the first time you’ve really thought about divorce or what it means legally. You might be imagining dramatic court scenes from TV, but for most people, a legal divorce doesn’t involve going to court. Parents usually work with a mediator or family lawyer to sort out arrangements and financial matters.

This article gives tips to help you understand the legal process and links to good sources of information about the process. If you’re worried, talk to your parents and don’t be afraid to ask questions.
